Priyanka Chopra’s Fans Are Sharing An Old Video To Show How She Kept A Promise

After more than 50 Bollywood films, several film awards, one American Drama series and her first Hollywood film Baywatch that is all set for its release, Priyanka Chopra is a full-throttle global brand and superstar. Apart from acting and producing films, Priyanka Chopra was also appointed as UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador, for which she flew down to Zimbabwe after her MET Gala debut.

Not many know that almost two decades ago, PC has an agenda in her mind which was reflected in one of the answers she gave during the Beauty pageant. 17 years ago, at the Miss world Pageant, Priyanka Chopra was asked, “What do you want to happen after this, obviously you would like to win but if you won is this a stepping stone to something else in life?”

PC replied, “Well it’s a stepping stone to anything I want to do because Miss world is a platform where I get a chance to influence people’s thoughts, mind, and action which is the biggest power of them all. And to be able to do that will give me the power to help people understand what their rights are and what they can be, the best they can be.”

Cut to, 2017. PC is on a mission to end child abuse in Africa. Priyanka Chopra also said how she is dismayed by the level of sexual violence against children in Zimbabwe, with government officials telling her many young girls are actually ‘asking for it’.

She said it was ‘an eye-opening experience’ meeting girls who had been shunned by society and thrown out of their homes after being raped. She says girls are told it’s their fault.

Taking time out of her acting schedule and dedicating almost a week for a good cause is not something that a global superstar usually does but for Priyanka Chopra, it surely seems to be one of her top priorities. Pointing out at this very fact, PC’s fans have started sharing this video where they’re thanking her for keeping the promise that she made years ago. Have a look.
